Let’s Be Wise

Welcome to the art/life trail ride! We’re moving through the Wisdom Moon/Month of May where the sensual and passionate burgeoning of nature surrounds! In my own backyard I observe a blue bird family, a cardinal nesting pair coming and going from the old boxwood hedge, Canada geese tending their brood across the cove and I see the elegant drift of huge wing spans floating in to feed the young as Great Blue heron chicks clack a greeting high up in the pines hidden from view. Down on the ground the garden is in a blast off mode with a perfect mix of sun and showers.

How Will You Grow This Year?

This Natural Year I hope that you will choose an area of your art/life where you would like to experience new energy infusions. Perhaps in your creative work or within your most important relationships or in your vitality and health. Maybe your wealth/well-being/finances/ability-to-invest-in- yourself needs a tune-up. It helps to focus and that’s what our adventure through the Natural Year supports us in doing.

No matter what area you feel drawn toward it never harms and it often helps to feel into the idea of really ‘Being New’. When you open to feel new there is a subsequent surge of vitality. New energy begins to flow to you and through you.

There is wisdom in practicing a feeling of new. You become more of a flow*er in your own precious human life. As one of my wise teachers often said to me, “Go out to your tree and pick it.”

Be a flow*er in your own life

Ask:

Who am I Being?

Get curious about how you might infuse your art/life with deeper and wider channels of creative connection. What is available, during this current Natural Year, in terms of ideas and inspirations? What is your burning yearning? What lines you up so that you feel drawn toward that which is bigger than you and larger than you?

Where’s your  s  t  r  e  t  c  h ?

What would you attempt if you knew you could not fail?

The 30 Day Wisdom Challenge

As part of this 30 day ‘Wisdom’ challenge I invite us all to be sleuthing out ways in which you can upgrade your relationship with what it means to be wise. This is a personal exploration. No one can (or should) be telling you how to move forward… yet you gain a tremendous amount of traction by sharing what you learn…you can journal, draw, dance, sing or even sip with a friend and share this chapter of the story of your art/life. It’s wise to connect in meaningful ways  with those that we come into contact with and the fine arts/healing arts of self-expression clears the way.

A Short Story with BIG Impact

My Toronto based friend, Sangita (multiple award-winning environmental journalist, an Independent documentary film maker, and a biologist) carried the weight and the burden of a long held crisis in her heart. Since her childhood in India she had witnessed something that was terribly wrong. Returning to visit her homeland as an adult she felt the anquish of this ongoing and worsening situation. In 2014 she was encouraged to ‘tell her compelling vision’. As a result of that encouragement she literally midwifed her way through the depth of her pain and gave birth to an idea. That idea has grown over the past three years. During that time she has told the story so that our hearts and minds can open to change. Sangita has touched hundreds and thousands of us. She and the community she has created are destined to change this unexceptable situation for good.

Sangita allowed her energy to shift. She experienced an infusion of increased boldness. She became beautifully unreasonable. She started a crowdsource fundraising site. She and one camera man traveled to India. With them traveled the supportive strength of all those that now had the opportunity to invest in and stand with her vision.

Sangita produced and directed a documentary film about this pressing and critically important issue. Prior to public release many film festival awards have been bestowed. Watch ‘Gods in Shackles’ movie trailer...here.

It is a wise woman, indeed, who invests in developing a compelling vision and watching it blossom into an artform touching hearts and opening minds to evolutionary soul-deep change.

I invite you to find your role models during this cycle. Consider also your capacity to become a role model for others. Make note of the ways in which you can continue to create empowering change…there is wisdom there.

2017 is a year for planting seeds of creative wisdom. To keep you connected to the process read the Lifecycle Forecast here. The yearly Forecast offers a creative weather forecast to line you up with where to sync in with the energy that uplifts you! The Forecast also helps you recognize when you’re heading down a slippery slope.

Ask yourself:

What touches, moves, inspires me?

What pisses me off?

Where to I see red?

How would I change this situation, circumstance, relationship, challenge?

Where do I see the opportunity?

Email me with your birth month and day. I’ll reply with your 2017 Personal Year Energy PDF…it’s a 3 page report. Print out and refer to the keywords and qualities that will support you throughout the year bringing focus to the area in which you choose to grow.

Here on the art/life trail we travel together. We explore the individual ways in which we can experience, express, create and contribute to the evolution of the fine arts/healing arts: dance, drumming, music, poetry, color, form, thoughtful movement, sound and simply being still gazing upon beauty. All of these and more have the capacity to uplift us collectively and temper our dis-ease as individuals. We need your perspective and your view…now more than ever.

Wise questions plus inquiry, curiousity and being open to The New brings wisdom. Ahhh…it’s the Wisdom Moon of 2017…never before…never again.

I look forward to seeing you here next time on the art/life trail ride and also over on the Wren House YouTube Channel where, in short 2 minute segments I share the many facets of the art/life trail ride from Wren House Studio.
