Prayer for the Great Family \u2014 (after a Mohawk Prayer)<\/span><\/h4>\n

Gratitude to Mother Earth, sailing through night and day\u2013<\/span>
\n and to her soil: rich, rare, and sweet<\/span><\/h4>\n

in our minds so be it.<\/em><\/span><\/h4>\n

Gratitude to Plants, the sun-facing light-changing leaf<\/span>
\n and fine root-hairs; standing still through wind<\/span>
\n and rain; their dance is in the flowing spiral grain<\/span><\/h4>\n

in our minds so be it.<\/em><\/span><\/h4>\n

Gratitude to Air, bearing the soaring Swift and the silent<\/span>
\n Owl at dawn. Breath of our song<\/span>
\n clear spirit breeze<\/span><\/h4>\n

in our minds so be it.<\/em><\/span><\/h4>\n

Gratitude to Wild Beings, our brothers, teaching secrets,<\/span>
\n freedoms and ways; who share with us their milk;<\/span>
\n self-complete, brave, and aware<\/span><\/h4>\n

in our minds so be it.<\/em><\/span><\/h4>\n

Gratitude to Water: clouds, lakes, rivers, glaciers;<\/span>
\n holding or releasing; streaming through all<\/span>
\n our bodies salty seas<\/span><\/h4>\n

in our minds so be it.<\/em><\/span><\/h4>\n

Gratitude to the Sun: blinding pulsing light through<\/span>
\n trunks of trees, through mists, warming caves where<\/span>
\n bears and snakes sleep\u2013he who wakes us\u2013<\/span><\/h4>\n

in our minds so be it.<\/em><\/span><\/h4>\n

Gratitude to the Great Sky<\/span>
\n who holds billions of stars\u2013and goes yet beyond that\u2013<\/span>
\n beyond all powers, and thoughts<\/span>
\n and yet is within us\u2013<\/span>
\n Grandfather Space.<\/span>
\n The Mind is his Wife<\/span><\/h4>\n

so be it.<\/em><\/span><\/h4>\n
