Welcome to the art\/life trail and to the world of 2017!<\/span><\/h4>\n

This is a critical year for taking a stand, having a vision. Let’s be\u00a0willing to move forward without fear and without having the who, the how, the when, the why or the where in place. Sounds unsettling and confounding…also highly opportune for new levels of creative collaboration.<\/span><\/h4>\n

We are now several weeks into the Mystery quadrant. This 90 day period takes us into the realm of the deep feminine so that we might restore, refresh, rejuvinate and renew. We keep in mind that the spring and summer are primarily active\/masculine\/get it done…grow, grow, grow moon\/months. During fall and winter the feminine energy rises to support us in resourcing inner strength, intuitive awareness and the urge to midwife a creative birth. As we round the curve into winter the 12 weeks are infused with Mystery.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The Mystery is the unknown, the unexplored, the never felt.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Mystery: noun<\/em><\/span><\/h4>\n

1<\/strong>.\u00a0something that is difficult or impossible to understand or explain.<\/span><\/h4>\n

“the mysteries of outer space”<\/span><\/h4>\n

\nWhat does Mystery mean to you? <\/span><\/h4>\n

During this cycle (December 29 – January 27)\u00a0\u00a0the energy offers relaxing into the deep inner world where the quality is akin to loosening resistance, opening to intuitive guidance and generally lightening up. To help move in that direction take a moment to regularly sense into the pattern of your breath. <\/span><\/h4>\n

Breathwork<\/a><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Work Wonders<\/span><\/h4>\n


\nPause a moment and create breathing space. \u00a0Acknowledge Renewed Vitality.\u00a0 Each breath moves you into the\u00a0uncharted territory of the Mystery. Explore. Be\u00a0a pioneer.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Enter the Mystery. The breath directs your communication. Keep in mind that your words matter. <\/span>What you say to yourself throughout this month\u00a0and all through this year will continue to grow (or rot).\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

Honoring the Roots of the Mystery<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

With each post between winter solstice\u00a0and spring equinox I share\u00a0two entries\u00a0from my book Twenty Two Prayer Poems for Care Givers<\/strong><\/em><\/a>\u2026<\/span><\/h4>\n

The Prayer\/Poems were written while I was a hospice volunteer. The words that came as the result of my experience helped me to breathe in\u00a0the Mystery. Choices helped me\u00a0to take wise and good care of what Tibetan Buddhist’s call this “precious human life”.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Living in the Present<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

This holy instant I give to You, be You in charge.<\/span>
\nACIM<\/span><\/a><\/h4>\n

Dear One,<\/span><\/h4>\n

There are times like this when I feel insecure.<\/span>
\nI am willing to see this situation differently.<\/span>
\nWhen I imagine my response to the experience<\/span>
\nIt seems as though my need to defend<\/span>
\ncomes up so strongly.<\/span>
\nI want others to see me as good and qualified.<\/span>
\nI feel like screaming from the rooftop that<\/span>
\nI AM OKAY!<\/span>
\nAnd yet I admit that at this moment I wonder<\/span>
\nIf I have what it takes.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I find my thoughts wandering into the future.<\/span>
\nI see the suffering around me and I question:<\/span>
\nWill I be able to age in good health?\u00a0<\/span>
\nWill I be surrounded by love and support?<\/span>
\nI offer up these fears to You.<\/span>
\nI ask for a new view in the present moment.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I ask
\nthat You send in all of the Mighty Companions.<\/span>
\nI ask that They accompany me.<\/span>
\nI ask that They drench my thoughts in gentle delight.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Release me from the pain of imagining that I am<\/span>
\nnot enough.<\/span>
\nSettle me into the arms of the Ones Who Care.<\/span>
\nAllow me the space and the trust to<\/span>
\nradiate a new idea.<\/span>
\nGive me the joy of possiblity!<\/span>
\nHelp me to remember Your teaching,<\/span><\/h4>\n

This holy instant I give to You.<\/span>
\nFor I would follow You, certain that Your direction<\/span>
\nBrings me peace.<\/span>
\n\u00a0If I need a word You bring it to me.<\/span>
\nIf I need a thought You bring it to me.<\/span>
\nIf I need but stillness and a gentle quiet mind<\/span>
\nThese are the gifts I will receive of You.<\/span>
\nYou are in charge by my request.<\/span>
\nYou hear me and You answer me…<\/span>
\nFor You speak for my Creator and<\/span>
\nI am my Creator’s holy child.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I pledge to do no harm.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Dear One,<\/span><\/h4>\n

It feels as though I need to protect myself.<\/span>
\nIt feels as though I am being attacked.<\/span>
\nWherever I go at this time it feels as though<\/span>
\nI am an outsider.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I am bereft of hope and I fear that all of my attempts to<\/span>
\nLearn to walk in balance are for naught.<\/span>
\nI look about me and try as I may to see the beauty<\/span>
\nMy eyes seem magnitized<\/span>
\nto the pain and suffering and ugliness.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Humbly I ask that You<\/span>
\nGive me new eyes in this moment.<\/span>
\nRemind me that this world is all an illusion.<\/span>
\nRemind me that nothing real can be threatened.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Teach me to forgive the world.<\/span>
\nTeach me to forgive myself.<\/span>
\nShow me how to correct my thinking.<\/span>
\nBring me back to balance.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I am willing to step back today and let<\/span>
\nYou lead the way.<\/span>
\nI am willing to be taught…<\/span>
\nThere is another way of looking at the world.<\/span>
\nI am willing to give over my fear.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Again and again throughout this day<\/span>
\nI will be still an instant and go home.<\/span>
\nI will listen to Your gentle guiding voice.\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

As we\u00a0begin 2017\u00a0we’re in the last\u00a0quarter of the Natural Year. It’s time now for\u00a0clearing away the cluttering thought forms and emotional baggage that would make us feel that we are not prepared for what will be meeting us on the trail up ahead. <\/span><\/h4>\n

We’re Moving through the Mystery of a deep inner landscape and t<\/span>hese coming weeks demand a lot from us. The Mystery is naturally difficult and impossible to understand.<\/span><\/h4>\n

What’s beneficial now is resting in a hammock of restorative dreams. <\/span><\/h4>\n

Isn’t it odd that\u00a0resting can seem so out of reach, often like a burden! <\/span><\/h4>\n

The weeks leading up to the spring equinox give\u00a0us time to dream the dream. There is\u00a0deeply rooted power in\u00a015 minutes a day invested in quiet reflection, piddling, gazing, focused\u00a0breathing, daydreaming, doodling, playing, reading poetry, birdwatching, napping. <\/span><\/h4>\n

Rest in a way that feels natural for you. Imagine that you are being resourced and rejuvenated\u00a0in the arms of the deep feminine. Imagine that you are safe and cozy, nesting deep down in her roots. Imagine resting in the silent deep dark. Feel into\u00a0the power of Being. <\/span><\/h4>\n

Notice, without needing to fix, how much\u00a0resistance you feel\u00a0to taking time and making space in your busy life to simply Be.<\/span><\/h4>\n
